CAMEROUN :: Cameroon: On Paul Biya new Batch of “Creatures”

After his Soviet Style reelection, the president has now nominated a new government staffed with new “creatures” and particularly, Jean de Dieu Momo and Celestine Ketcha Courtes who epitomize the kind of creatures the president excelled at creating.

These individuals display sociopathic or psychopathic tendencies the Biya’s regime appreciates. They are very good at shameless and cynical self-promotion and acquiring social status at the expense of everybody around them. They first appear at “charming,” “assertive,” “Intelligent,” “exciting,” and “entertaining.” This addiction to performative self-aggrandizement, however, is very hard to sustain.

Indeed, Biya’s creature is a construct of deception and self-deception.

Mr. Momo was nominated in Biya’s government for abandoning a career in human rights activism to give the president a new political virginity he does not deserve. Mr. Momo is clearly following the mantra that “in your twenties, if you are not a rebel, you have no heart and, in your forties, if you are still a rebel, then you have no brain.”

On the other hand, Celestine Ketcha Courtes, won a seat in government by « entrapping » a prominent French political figure visiting the country of the perpetual old lazy king Paul Biya (85 years), and making her wear a “Sandja” bearing the effigy of the dictator. A few months later, she was promoted to Minister of Housing in his bloated government, despite her dual citizenship, in a country where the regime has literally declared a war against dissidents, activists, and real opponents, often in spite of them holding a nationality (of survival). Like what …

One must always be wary in the tyrannies of all these sulfurous characters with the debonair appearance, which gravitate in the circles of the Francophonie by appearing like women or political men of convictions (whether they are from the ruling party-state or its satellite opposition). This is Cameroon’s Paul Biya. More than 36 years that lasts!

What all these foolish “Creatures” failed to realize is that their acts and behaviors are indeed self-sabotaging. It is all based on appearances and unproductive behaviors and activities. They will never achieved anything of values and they should consider themselves lucky if they do not end up in prison or confine to the dustbin of history.
