Suisse :: From Geneva Intercontinental Hotel With Delectation :: Switzerland

Cameroon's "obscenely immortal ruler for life" Paul Biya "is again cloistered in his presidential suite of the Intercontinental Hotel de Genève, while some activists in the diaspora wish to storm this impregnable luxury fortress.

At this point, we must ask ourselves whether or not Mr. Paul Biya is a receiver at the five star Intercontinental Hotel in Geneva for the ways in which the hotel bend over backward to accommodate this tyrant, in the process, slapping the faces the mounting voices of the Cameroonian diaspora and a country sliding into violence and chaos.

The CL2P understands that President Biya, who habitually spends long periods out of the country, normally travels with a delegation of up to fifty persons.

For such a delegation, FCFA 24 million [$ 48,500] would be spent every night. Mr. Biya is estimated to have spent $US Dollar 182 million in overseas travel so far. Back home, however, the average Cameroonian lives below the one-dollar-a-day threshold and more than half of the country’s 20 million citizens lack access to potable water, energy and proper health care.

That Paul Biya, President of Cameroon, resides in Geneva is an insult to our country and to all Cameroonians.

How do other heads of state who stay back at home and work during holidays do? Rather than squandering Cameroonian’s resources in expensive hotels overseas, why not Paul Biya stays home and do the job he was elected to do beginning by building up Cameroonian’s touristic infrastructures to give jobs to ordinary Cameroonians?

In this sense, the hotel ownership is a willing accomplice of the most shocking and scornful arms of honor made by a despot supposedly elected by the people whose votes he says he will request on October 7, during the umpteenth parody of the presidential election, the result of which is obviously already known beforehand.

"Go talk, I do not even need to fight a campaign”!!!, seems to tell us Paul Biya

"MI BO MA DJE”??? ("WHAT CAN YOU DO TO ME?" He heartily repeats in his mother tongue Bulu).

Dear Sir, from the height of your omnipotence and your great age (86 years), never forget that everything has a time on this wonderful land of men.

Like many of us, yours is also counted.
