As he attempted to turn, his left foot became trapped in the grass, causing his ankle to twist violently under the weight and momentum of his body. Players from the 2 teams immediately signaled for medical assistance after noticing the seriousness of the injury.

A shocking occurrence

Medical reports later confirmed that Da Silva suffered a severe fracture-dislocation of the left ankle. A live bet available on 1xbet.sl/en/live can also be made on footballers who return from these difficult injuries too.

This involved the fibula and possible ligament damage. Some reports also indicated that the injury was open, meaning the bone pierced the skin, increasing the danger of infection and long-term complications. According to specialists cited in the coverage, this type of trauma can affect not only bones but also 3 other places:

• cartilage;
• nerves;
• and surrounding tissues.

This makes recovery extremely difficult for professional athletes. What is not difficult at all is to enjoy a live bet on 1xBet, which has tons of football wagers available as well.

A long road to recovery

The injury shocked fans across Latin America because television cameras captured the moment clearly, and the images quickly spread on social media. Several teammates appeared visibly emotional, while supporters expressed concern about whether the 36-year-old player would ever return to professional football. Doctors estimated that rehabilitation could take between 6 and 8 months. However, some observers believe the recovery period may extend beyond 1 year because of the seriousness of the damage.

Fortunately, F.C. Motagua later announced that the surgery had been successful. The club publicly thanked supporters for their messages and promised to accompany Da Silva throughout his recovery process.
