CAMEROUN :: Medical Mission for Cameroon Refugees in Nigeria: Date for Medical Services: December 10-16, 2018
Appeal for Financial Support..Nissis Vessels Foundation (NVF) in partnership with Raphas Hands Foundation (RHF) and MECA USA Inc., are co-leading a Medical Mission trip to Nigeria to provide Medical Services to Cameroonian refugees who are currently residing in refugee camps in Nigeria, after fleeing their homes due to the ongoing war in Cameroon. This mission will take place between December 10-16, 2018. Our mission is to serve these children of God to His glory.
The aim of this mission is to provide Free Medical care (consultation, laboratory services, medications, surgeries etc.) to over 4000 refugees at the camp in Ikom/Ogoja, Nigeria. The refugees are reported to be suffering from the following diseases: hypertension, dysentery, asthma, pneumonia, malnutrition, anemia, cough, malaria, depression, gastritis, typhoid, leg fractures etc. Also, because of their new social environment, there are many recent cases of teenage and adult pregnancies which require prenatal attention. At this stage of the planning, the effort has been enormously blessed with more than 50 Health Care/Religious Professionals (Medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory technicians, nutritionists, psychologists, pastors etc..) that have volunteered to give of their time to freely provide medical services to the refugees. We are deeply “Thankful to God” for making His servants available for His mission. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37-38).
Our goal is to raise about $40,000 that is needed to support the cost of medical supplies, transportation, accommodation, bibles and feeding the refugees and volunteers for the 1-week campaign.
A major component of the mission is the pastoral ministry which will involve ministering and bringing hope (Jesus Christ) to the refugees, as well as training refugees who will become bible study group leaders within the camp. Bibles (paper and audio) will also be donated to the refugees that we minister to. Your prayers for this mission and the refugees are greatly appreciated.
I am writing to request that you find a place in your heart for these refugees by donating to this cause. This is an opportunity for you and me to be part of what God is doing and how He is taking care of the refugees at the camps in Ikom/Ogoja, Nigeria.
